Madurai: A three-year-old girl child was rescued by Kanyakumari district police from her kidnapper late on Saturday within three hours of receiving a complaint that she had gone missing.According to the police, a couple from Bhopal who sold balloons arrived at Nagercoil railway station around 4.50 pm on Saturday to catch a train to return home. They were waiting for the train when an auto driver approached them, offered food, and after some time quietly slipped away with their child.Realising that their child had been kidnapped, they informed the nearby police, who rushed to the railway station and started an inquiry. Kanyakumari superintendent of police R Stalin told TOI that on receiving the complaint around 8.30 pm, five special teams were formed, and a search operation commenced. Police analysed nearly 100 CCTVs near the railway station and auto stand, and managed to get the facial details of the accused and the contact number.
